So I checked it out and it is really cool! Do you think I need to be
inspiring more people to take stop seeing death so seriously.
Mr McLaren was a bit of a one in a million huh! Wonder what
Viv will do when it comes to her turn? Guess she needs to top
this huh!
Ahhh what to do??! Maybe I should be looking at creating a new,
relevant identity for death in 21st century!

I reckon stick with your original idea Becky! You're into it now and I think It's really interesting. You might even end up just focusing on McLaren's death or a few peop in particular! You don't have to wait around for strangers to die to build your research! The branding London is a good idea too but I'm sure its been done before a million times and at the end of the day its how you approach your idea and what you do with it that matters. I need a serious kick up the arse today! P.s the branding death is a good one. You could brand it in a way that you want people to look at it as a celebration of their lives instead of a commiseration...or something!

ReplyDeleteI just don't wanna get myself all depressed! Planning on spending the day in a civil cemetery, have you seen how bleak it is outside...Jeez, I'm gonna be full of joy this eve! BUT yes you are right, think MacLaran is a good case study...this doesn't have to be all doom and gloom, I guess I really want to suggest we move away from all the darkness and start to see this as a celebration of life rather than a passing into an afterlife!
I think Paul can be a bit too much help sometimes! We need to just take what we want from his advice/suggestions so don't let it sidetrack you!

ReplyDeleteLove, there's so much cultural theory about the dead and the rituals. Actually my old theory teacher wrote a book about the cemeteries in the cities. It's unfortunately in Danish but I can give you her email and you can ask her about some literature in English.
